Look Cool When it’s HOT

By Mikkel Hyldebrandt

It’s time for a seasonal trim that will not only look good on you but will help to keep you cool when temperatures are high.

Up the Frequency

Heat, sweat, and sun will all have most men wanting a fresh cut and trim more frequently, so in the summer months up the frequency of your beard trims and haircuts to about three weeks apart.

Hair

Longer hair is logically warmer on the head, but as long as you keep the sides and the back of the head short, you should be able to stay cool(er). You will probably also need to wash your hair more frequently because you need to clean sweat and sebum for hair and scalp.

Beard

Facial hair works like hair on the head to retain moisture and heat. You can still keep a full beard but consider trimming it down a little for the warmer months – you will feel the difference! Keep it clean by washing it with a face wash, and keep it soft with a few drops of oil.

Panacea Daily Facial Cleanser, $16

Body Hair

There’s no need to get a full body wax, but even a slight trim of your body hair – underarm and groin area especially – will significantly reduce the risk of body odor.

Sunscreen and Bronzing

If you want to keep up your good looks, you need to take good care of your skin, and sunscreen is the best thing you can do to future-proof your looks. If you want a deeper tan, try a self-tanner – the key is to exfoliate the skin before use for an even result.

Keep It Up

Looking this good – trimmed, clean-cut, and nicely tanned – feels good, so keep it up even after summer is over. Your surroundings will surely notice and appreciate the better groomed you!
