Country-pop artist Brian Falduto is delivering a fresh dose of holiday magic this season with his original single, “Christmas Solo.” A playful and uplifting anthem for those spending the holidays alone, the track offers a rare celebration of solo time and self-love in a season often centered on family and romance.
Reflecting on his inspiration for the song, Falduto shares, “I’ve spent many years single, and I’ve often felt out of place during the holiday season. The messaging around Christmas is so focused on being together with loved ones. But for many of us, especially those who are single by choice, it can feel isolating. I wanted to create a song that celebrates the beauty of being ‘self-partnered’ for the holidays and acknowledges that spending Christmas solo can be something joyful.”
A Holiday Anthem for Singles
“Christmas Solo” flips the script on traditional holiday music, trading themes of longing and romantic love for an empowering celebration of independence. With lyrics that embrace the freedom of a solo Christmas, Falduto asks a question that many have likely pondered: “Why is there no holiday anthem for single people?”
He continues, “Valentine’s Day and weddings celebrate love and relationships, but singles deserve an anthem, too. I wanted to give singles a chance to embrace the holiday spirit without feeling like something’s missing.”
The song, produced by Brett Castro, is a delightful blend of Falduto’s signature country-pop style and festive cheer. Its lively production includes a standout saxophone solo by Nate Hopkins and dynamic background vocals by Bronwyn Whittle and Kelsey Martin. “It’s catchy and fun, which was the goal,” Falduto says. “I wanted it to have that shiny, holiday feel but without the undertone of sadness or bitterness. This is a song for celebrating your own company.”

Finding Joy in a Solo Christmas
Falduto also highlights the perks of spending Christmas solo. “You don’t have to dress up, make small talk, cook, or clean up after guests,” he laughs. “Spending Christmas solo gives you a rare chance to truly relax, decompress, and reflect on the season’s true meaning, away from all the holiday hustle and bustle.”
This message resonates deeply within the LGBTQ+ community, where the holidays can sometimes feel complicated. “The holidays can be a complicated time for the queer community, especially when returning to environments that don’t feel fully supportive,” Falduto reflects. “Christmas Solo is for everyone who feels out of place this time of year, whether you’re physically alone or just feeling like you don’t belong.”
From “Fancy Pants” to LGBTQ+ Country Star
Falduto’s musical career has been a journey of authenticity and representation. Fans may remember him as Fancy Pants in School of Rock, but his music has become a beacon for LGBTQ+ audiences in country music—a genre not historically known for its inclusivity.
In 2023, Falduto released his first country hit, “Same Old Country Love Song,” which quickly became a celebrated LGBTQ+ anthem. “The success of ‘Same Old Country Love Song’ was extremely validating and encouraging,” Falduto recalls. “It served as a testament to how many people have felt left out by country music and how much a song like this was clearly needed.”
His subsequent releases, including “Hottest Guy Here” and “Big Boys Club,” culminated in his full-length album, Gay Country (Deluxe Edition). Now, with “Christmas Solo,” Falduto is extending his reach into holiday music, offering a fresh perspective for those who feel overlooked by traditional Christmas songs.
A Holiday Wish for Joy and Celebration
For fans feeling left out by the season’s usual love songs, Falduto hopes that “Christmas Solo” will resonate with them. can bring both comfort and joy. “I love holiday music,” he says. “But so much of it focuses on romantic love or family togetherness. Christmas Solo fills a gap for people who don’t fit that mold, who might need a little reminder that it’s okay to celebrate the season alone.”
As the world continues to face challenges, Falduto sees joy as a form of resistance. “There’s so much going on in the world right now. I hope this song brings a little bit of joy to people. Joy can be a powerful remedy and a form of resistance when things are tough. Let’s use it to lift each other up this season.”
