Get Camera-Ready With No-Makeup Makeup

By Mikkel Hyldebrandt

Even though we snap selfies constantly, and photo ops pop up at every social gathering, there’s no need to be “camera-ready” at all times. But if you know the cameras will be flashing, and you will pop up in your own and other’s social media feed, there’s good reason to do little enhancements that will make you look nearly flawless. Here’s how.

Hydrated Skin

Your skin will always look better when it is nicely moisturized. If you choose a moisturizer with a little color pigment, you will even out imperfections and make it appear smoother.

Lab Series Bb Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum Spf 35, $44

A little Obscurity

A concealer is concentrated pigment for those places on your face where color differences and shadows appear stronger. Use it lightly under eyes, in the fold between cheek and lips and in the creases of your nose. Also dab it (lightly!) where you may need a little coverage.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, $30

Hi-Def Quick-Fix

This completely invisible powder will melt into your skin, and the tiny light pigments will make your skin appear refined and luminous – especially on photos!

Youngblood Hi-Definition Hydrating Mineral Perfecting Powder, $40

A Little Powder Never Hurt Anybody

A little powder matched to your skin tone is a surefire way to perfect the skin with an immediate result. Just don’t overboard, an keep it light so your own skin’s sheen can be seen through it.

Mac Blot Powder/Pressed, $29

A Little Spritz

A little mist from this products refreshes and mattifies the skin – it can be used with your moisturizer or throughout the day for a reinvigorating spritz.

Volition Oil-Control Mattifying Mist, $29
