The Big Game at Woofs

By Mikkel Hyldebrandt

For 18 years, Woofs has been serving the LGBTQ community with the finest in sports entertainment and great dining. And with their relocation to Plasters Ave, it has only gotten better! Peach spoke to GM Mike Langan about the renewed success and how they are getting ready for the Super Bowl.

There’s no denying that moving to the new location has been a massive success – where you surprised that the new Woofs was so well-received?
We weren’t surprised as we have a very loyal customer base, and we felt sure that they would follow us. However, we are continuously grateful for their patronage and extremely happy that our Woofs family has continued to grow larger and larger since our move with new faces showing up all the time.

Besides a change of location, what other initiatives have you made to create more business?
We continually strive to make Woofs a comfortable and familiar place for our guests, so we stick with our tried and true emphasis on sports-related entertainment. However, we also enjoy reaching out to the community to give all aspects something to look forward to when coming here. In that respect, we, on occasion, host fun nights like Union Suit Night, Flannel Fridays, etc. Everyone can always check our Facebook page to see any upcoming events we have scheduled.

This will be the first Superbowl at the new Woofs – how are you preparing for the big game night?
We are expecting a great crowd for the big game and Management, and we will be fully staffed and looking forward to making sure our guests have a fun time.

Do you think this night will be another record-breaker?
While we know this will be a great day, historically, our busiest day is always over Pride weekend. However, we are staffed and ready to deliver a great experience regardless of breaking any records.

Can you tell us more about the initiatives you have planned for the new year?
We are continually challenging ourselves to continue delivering an enjoyable dining and drinking experience for each and every patron. We look forward to getting input from our guests so we can ensure that Woofs continues to be the destination dining and drinking establishment for our community.

Anything you’d like to add?
We encourage our guests to drink responsibly and when at all possible we recommend they use rideshare services when visiting to make their visit even more enjoyable.

The Super Bowl LIV between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will air on 2/2 at 6:30 pm. Check out woofsatlanta.com for more info.
