Valiant Horizon, a distinguished music label with a global reach, proudly unveils its latest sensation: Knox Peake. This North Carolina-based vocalist, celebrated social media influencer, and digital creator has embarked on a remarkable journey into the world of music, and his debut single, “Pump It Up,” is set to captivate audiences worldwide.
With a career that has spanned digital content creation, brand endorsements, and a fervent following on platforms like Instagram, Knox Peake now takes center stage in the music industry. “Pump It Up” is more than a song; it’s an anthem of empowerment and a testament to Knox’s lifelong passion for music.
Produced in collaboration with Valiant Horizon’s in-house production co-op, Thought Leaders, “Pump It Up” merges EDM’s pulsating energy with pop’s infectious catchiness, showcasing Knox’s versatile vocal prowess and magnetic charisma.
David got to catch up with Knox to discuss his foray into music.
You’re a well-known Insta personality, content creator, and influencer – what made you get into music?
As a creator, you always want to keep evolving and doing something fresh and different. For me, this was something that I saw as the next evolution. I’ve always loved music; it’s been a big part of my page, and I’ve used it in so much of my content. I also taught spin, and music was a huge part of my class. I was like a DJ! Basically, I just wanted to create something fun for my online audience and maybe something they would never expect from me.
Tell me about your collab with Valiant Horizon.
This collaboration was years in the making. The Valiant Horizon founder, Terry Sartor, approached me about doing a single. He must have sensed something about me that I didn’t even know I was capable of doing. I was initially hesitant but knew it was something I needed to pursue. It’s been such a fun experience, and my audience has really enjoyed it. I think they were totally surprised when I announced I had an upcoming single.
Tell us about the “Pump It Up” track – what was your involvement, and what are your hopes and expectations for this release?
“Pump It Up” is so true to me. It’s fun, lighthearted, and the perfect workout song! My hopes are that it makes people smile because that’s my mission with all my social media content. “Pump It Up” means a lot to me. It’s been a chance to do something totally different and even make myself a little vulnerable. I just hope everyone loves it! It’s not too serious, and it’s fun and lighthearted. We live in a political climate that’s tough right now for all of us in the LGBTIQA+ community, so I just wanted to make something that people can work out to, dance to, and smile about. I think we need more of that.
Will you be touring/performing with this track, and what’s next for Knox Peake?
I hope to perform “Pump It Up” in the near future. I think it’s the perfect Pride event song! I just want to continue what I’m doing by posting positive, inspirational, and meaningful content. As a member of the LGBTIQA+ community, I want to continue speaking up for what’s right! I want to inspire others to live their best and most authentic version of themselves. I also have some fun upcoming partnerships, travels, and plans to create more music with Valiant Horizon. I just want to continue enjoying this journey and share joy with everyone!
How did you get into the social influencer scene?
I get asked this question literally all the time, and sometimes I don’t even understand it. It began with me posting pictures of our outdoor adventures from the NC mountains and our travels. I would include a positive and inspirational message that was true and meaningful to me. My Instagram page grew, and one day, I got an email from Degree, which I thought was a scam. It eventually became my first big brand deal. I’ve gone on to work with some of the world’s most iconic brands, as well as state tourism boards and performing arts venues. My advice to anyone: Stay consistent, keep it true to you, don’t veer off from your overall message, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, have fun with it!
