Georgia Equality’s 14th Annual Evening for Equality

This is Georgia Equality’s most significant annual fundraising event, dinner reception, and presentation of the Equality Awards that are given to individuals that best exemplify the organization’s mission to advance fairness, safety, and opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities and allies throughout the state.

The 2018 Equality Award Honorees are inspirational people who exemplify courage, compassion and a relentless tenacity for creating positive change in Georgia.

This year’s honorees include Officer Eric King who serves as an LGBT Liaison in the Atlanta Police Department, Dr. Melanie Thompson, Primary Investigator of the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta, 10-year-old Bennett Stone who is a community activist, and Gracie Bonds Staples, AJC journalist and GLAAD Media Award recipient.
