Although it still feels largely like summer, it is time to start thinking about updating your wardrobe for the new season. Here are some key trends that will fashion you nicely for Fall.
Hand-Made and Embroidered
Graphic elements are still a huge influence this season and tend to have a hand-crafted, upcycled look that can be seen as a move away from mass-manufacturing and perfection. Embroidery instead of print gives it a unique, more hand-made look. also speaks to independence and a unique look.
Patchwork-looking shirts with different patterns are trending for Fall, and the patched, mismatched style will be seen on denim jackets and jeans as well. Again, it is the unique and less mass-produced aesthetic that prevails.
Utilitarian and …Ugly?
The utilitarian trend is not over yet, and propelled by the ‘ugly shoe movement’, the fit of jeans remains cropped, slim, and straight – and preferably with utilitarian cargo elements like side pockets.
Radically fresh or just plain ugly? The ugly shoe movement continues with sneakers and shoes that either look like a blast from the past or futuristic designer footwear. You be the judge – pictured is the Vetements x Reebok Genetically Modified Trainer, $1,090.
