When I think about my future it seems so far away and everyone around me wants to mention things like prepare for retirement and such… am I being silly in thinking that I dont have to worry about this right now? Should I start preparing and begin to trade in the work that I am doing for work that will better suit a longer career and retirement?
Only you can decide how you want to proceed with retirement and such. If you think that you need to focus a bit more on the future and what it has in store for you then maybe, you need to really examine if it’s time to change careers. Otherwise, if you feel like you are in a good place then you might be able to let things go slowly and transition as opposed to giving everything up. You have to also look and see what brings you joy now a days. Things change and so do careers. If you think that the career you are currently in is still bringing you joy, then wonderful… But if not, then you need to see what you can do to spark that joy again if you plan for a long-term career.
