BUCK C. COOKE | 5.14.2008
“American Boy”
Soul Seekerz Club Mix
Estelle
The vocals are divine, and the instrumentation is a perfect blend of Euro and retro in this remix that put this recent import from the UK on the map. Kanye West’s rap is absent on this mix (which will delight some and disappoint others), but the heart and soul of the track belong to Estelle.
“Bleeding Love”
Moto Blanco Remix
Leona Lewis

Her debut album, “Spirit,” took the UK by storm, and this remix helped land Lewis at the top of Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay Chart stateside. This version blends her flawless vocals with a retro vibe to create a perfect dance gem sure to heat up the night.
“Touch My Body”
Seamus Haji and Paul Emanuel Mix
Mariah Carey
Billboard’s current Hot Dance Club Chart topper, Carey adds another feather to her cap with this sexy version of her hit from “E-MC2.” Haji and Emanuel give us the money shot with a mix perfect for peak hour at the club or a steamy night in your pool.
“Band of Gold”
Piper Extended Club Mix
Kimberly Locke

This was intended as the B-side for her new single “Fall” (which is good), but this new remix of “Band” stole the show. Piper injects new energy and crafts a version that will make it impossible for you to stand still while it plays.
“4 Minutes”
Peter Saves London Mix
Madonna (ft. Justin Timberlake & Timberland)
Madonna assembled a stellar roster of DJs to remix the first single from “Hard Candy,” and Rauhofer blows them all away. His other two remixes of the track are incredible, but this one is the perfect blend of big room anthem, deconstructed vocals, and funky synths.
“Ride”
Tiesto Remix
Cary Brothers
As the party draws to a close, this chilled out remix is perfect for a low-key gathering of a few friends left poolside or an intimate dip for two. Brothers’ organic vocals suit the acoustic guitar and the ambient synths to create a smoothe mood.
“If I Never See Your Face Again”
Maroon 5 (ft. Rihanna)

The boys from M5 team up with Ri-Ri for a smoldering retooling off their last album, just in time for the re-release of “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long” with new material next month. (Rihanna also cashes in with a re-release of “Good Girl Gone Bad,” also out in June.) Adam Levine and Rihanna create great chemistry on this summer jam.
“Stamp Your Feet”
Donna Summer
“I’m a Fire” this spring was hot, and “Stamp” will surely soar up the charts this summer. Remixes are no doubt in the works, but the album version bodes well for the May 20 release of “Crayons,” Summer’s first studio release in 17 years. The Queen of Disco proves she is ready to reign again.
“Break the Ice”
Wideboys Club Mix
Britney Spears

Spears’ personal life has been in the toilet for most of 2008, but she certainly never sounded better than this remix, the best version of one of the sexiest tracks from “Blackout.” Flaunting the flirtatiousness of the track, Wideboys dirty up the beat and vamp up the vocals.
“Give it 2 Me”
Paul Oakenfold Edit
Madonna

While the weeks leading up to a proper second offering from “Hard Candy” creep by, at least you have this treat to tide you over. Oakie transforms this one into a frenetic, dyanamic dance mix.
“Handle Me”
Robyn
Here’s one to grown on: between this song, "Be Mine!" and "With Every Heart Beat," we had trouble choosing just one. At any rate, you know you love Robyn because bitch is everywhere right now, even in a David interview.
